JAIA YOUth

From an overwhelming site to a mission that speaks for itself

How a Brooklyn nonprofit went from a site that confused visitors to one that makes their mission, programs, and impact immediately clear to funders and communities.

A nonprofit with impact that wasn't coming through online

JAIA Youth supports youth-led mental wellness education and leadership development through programs grounded in mindfulness, healing, and community support. Their work was making a real difference in the community. Their website wasn't showing it.

The structure felt heavy, the mission was hard to follow, and it wasn't clear how programs connected or how impact was created. Funders and community members alike were struggling to understand the organization at a glance. The opportunity wasn't to change the mission. It was to make the work easier to understand, navigate, and trust.

What We Did

Content restructuring

Five programs and extensive content were restructured so funders and community members could understand the mission and programs immediately upon arrival.

Website copywriting

Drawing from grant language and program documentation, clear, audience-focused copy was developed to communicate JAIA's impact and value directly to funders.

Phased design approach

A working homepage was presented within days of kickoff, giving the organization something concrete to review and respond to before the full site was built out.

Platform selection & build

The site was built on Squarespace, giving the JAIA team full control to manage and update content independently without ongoing developer support.

The Results

A nonprofit whose website now works as hard as its team does.

JAIA YOUth now has an online presence that reflects the strength of their work. Funders can understand the mission faster, community members can move through programs with ease, and the organization has a solid digital foundation for growth and continued funding.
